Purpose of this blog.

Hello, and thanks for taking time to read this blog.  The purpose of this blog is to help families in the State of Kentucky navigate the Michelle P. Waiver application process as easily as possible.  When my wife and I first began the process ourselves we immediately scoured the internet for as much information as possible.  Unfortunately, with the exception of the information provided by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, and a single thread on Facebook, we could find very little information providing specific steps to follow.  We had hoped the application would go smoothly, but as it turns out, that is rarely the case.  If you have found your way to this blog, then you most likely know exactly what I am talking about.  Our goal is to help Kentucky families in the way that we would have like to have been helped when we first began the application.  We will bring you up to speed on where we are now, and then provide step by step updates for the remainder of the process.  We hope the information provided here is beneficial, and we wish you luck in obtaining supports and services for your children.  If at any point, anyone has a specific question not addressed in this blog, please send me an email, and we will do our best to answer it ourselves, or find someone else that can.

  1. My son with autism has been denied twice the this waiver. We are going to a hearing on Oct. 23 and I have to prove that the state did not follow the law when they denied him. Anyone with experience with this? Should I get an attorney? We need help!!
